Prince Rupert to Skagway with a jaunt over to Sitka - By Oar and Wind

We are still working on the route planning, but we will have a detailed route on this page showing every location we stay along the way.

Route Map

Locations we want to stop at:
We had considered starting in Prince Rupert, but it looks like it is going to be easiest to start from Ketchican for shipping purposes and likely a safer starting point for a family type adventure.

Ketchican (Start)
Meyers Chuck
Coffman Cove
Wrangell
Petersburg
Tenakee Springs
Sitka
Juneau
Skagway or Haines

Some Distances:
Prince Rupert > Ketchican = 100
Ketchican > Meyers Chuck = 40
Meyers Chuck > Wrangell = 65
Wrangell > Petersburg = 43
Petersburg > Sitka = 190
Petersburg > Juneau = 150
Sitka > Juneau = 165
Juneau > Skagway = 95

Map Notes:

Chart numbers for Southeast Alaska are 16016 (for a view of SE from Dixon Entrance past Yakutat Bay), 17420 covers Ketchikan and the Cleveland Penninsula, 17360 covers Petersburg and Wrangell (Kupreanof Island), 17300 covers Juneau (Stephens Passage, Glacier Bay, Lynn Canal to Skagway). Sitka and Baranof Island are covered on 17320.
